Text Box: County Meath, Ireland “The Royal County”
So called because it contains the seat of the ancient High Kings of Ireland at the Hill of Tara.
Older than the pyramids of Egypt, the passage graves of Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth attract visitors from all over the world.
Also of particular interest is historic Kells, where the Book of Kells originated. Kells also has some fine 9th Century High crosses and a 1000 year old Round Tower.
County Meath, our sister city, a wonderful place we call a little bit of heaven!
