Each year on the third Thursday of November, the Gamay Valley Beaujolais wines are officially released.  Just after midnight, the race begins to ship the new wine across the world.

Harvested in the fall, the Beaujolais Nouveau wine is sold immediately after fermentation.  Mandatory hand picking of grapes from the Gamay valley are the only grapes used for the Beaujolais Nouveau wines.

SCA of Cary hosts a wine tasting for the new Beaujolais on the Friday evening following its release.  A festive occasion for all, we celebrate our friendship with Le Touquet.  Students from Wake Tech Culinary Arts prepare samplings of wonderful French hors d’oeuvres and the Wine Steward from the Wine Merchant serves up the unique tastings of several releases.
